Ricochet is flying high.
The WWE star, whose real name is Trevor Mann, got engaged to his girlfriend, ring announcer Samantha Irvin, at the Luxor in Las Vegas earlier this week — on her birthday.
“She said YES! 🙌🏽” Ricochet wrote on Instagram in a gallery of posts announcing the news. “When you find that one person. The one person that when you close your eyes you could never visualize life without them… you keep them close to your heart. Now we are closer than ever. @samanthairvinwwe I love you so much ♥️”
The 34-year-old Ricochet is a former WWE Intercontinental champion and United States champion. After performing at promotions like Evolve, Dragon Gate, PWG, Lucha Underground and New Japan Pro-Wrestling, he signed with WWE in 2018. He started out in NXT and made his main roster debut in 2019.
Irvin, who’s real name is Samantha Johnson, turned 28 on Monday. She signed with WWE in 2021 and was promoted from NXT to the main roster as a ring announcer early last year.
She appeared on “America’s Got Talent” in 2015, where her performances included “A Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin, “Lay Me Down” by Sam Smith and “California Dreamin” by The Mamas & The Papas.
A number of their pro wrestling colleagues jumped in to congratulate the engaged couple in the Instagram comments. Perhaps the most amusing response came from Cash Wheeler, currently a wrestler in AEW who performed as Dash Wilder in WWE.
“Congrats, Trev! Something tells me Carrot Top looks down approvingly,” he wrote, referring to the large ad for the comedian’s upcoming performance at the Luxor that features prominently in the engagement photo.
